FORT CUSTER RESULTS~
May 4th- Sunday- beautiful day for a bike race with clear skies and temperatures in the low to mid 60's. The location was Fort Custer for the annual Fort Custer Stampede cross country mountain bike race (and race #2 of the MMBA series). The Founders Ale Race Team was well represented - and represented well.
Of the thirteen elite racers participating in the four lap (nine miles per lap) 36 mile event, three were Founders team members.
Nate Versluis came in sixth place with 2hr22min, Steve Bartzen was a tenth place, and Jeff Jacobi took 12th
Founders racers in the three lap expert category included Shawn Davison in 7th place for expert 29&under and Dennis Murphy was 24th in the large category of expert men 40-49.
Brenden Murphy was 11th place for the two lap sport singlespeed category. Rick Plite snared a second place finish in Sport clydesdale followed by Ernie Stafford in ninth. Cathy Plite finished fifth in sport women 40-plus.
TUESDAY NIGHT ROAD RIDES
Clip in time is 6:30pm at the Brewery. For the month of May the B riders will change to a slightly longer route, A riders will continue to blaze their own route, slightly longer than ours and way faster!
Yankee Springs Time Trial Race Report
The Founders Ale / Alger Racing team had a great turnout and great finishes for the premier time trial in the state.
The race, an MMBA-CPS event was held at YANKEE SPRINGS TIME TRIAL on SUNDAY, APRIL 20, 2008
Nate Versluis tore up the course with a fourth place finish in Elite men and a 1st place finish in the single speed class!.
Shari Versluis pulled a strong third place finish in Expert women though suffering an injury requiring stitches- heal up Shari!!
Nate Versluis, Jeff Jacobi and Scott Chambers pulled double duty- racing Elite then going out for another event as a single speed competitor!
